MYP 2: U2: Conflict and Resolution in Literature: A Dream Deferred by Langston Hughes

Dear students

A Dream Deferred – Exploring Dreams and Possibilities

Our MYP 1 students explored Langston Hughes’ powerful poem A Dream Deferred, reflecting on dreams, hopes and the experiences that shape them.

Through the poem, students examined imagery, figurative language and the poet’s use of questions to express the impact of dreams that are delayed or denied. The lesson encouraged them to think deeply about aspirations, perseverance and the importance of giving dreams a voice.

A meaningful journey into poetry, perspective and the power of words.

Happy learning!
