MYP 1: Norse Mythology: Ragnarok Prophecy

  Dear MYP 1 learners, Every culture has stories that help explain the world—how it began, how it changes, and even how it might end. In our final mythology lesson, we bring together the three traditions we have explored:  Hindu, Greek, and Norse mythology . Our journey concludes with  Ragnarök , the Norse prophecy of the "Twilight of the Gods." Unlike many stories where heroes defeat evil and live happily ever after, Ragnarök tells us that even the gods cannot escape fate. Yet, despite its destruction, the story ends with  hope , reminding us that every ending can lead to a new beginning. Dear MYP 1 learners, Every great journey comes to an end, and today we conclude our exploration of  Hindu, Greek, and Norse mythology . Over the past few weeks, we have travelled across kingdoms, climbed Mount Olympus, walked through Asgard, and witnessed heroes, gods, monsters, and unforgettable adventures. We explored the values of  dharma and duty  through the  Ramayana  and  Mahabharata , discovered the strengths and flaws of the Greek gods, and entered the world of Norse mythology, where bravery and honour mattered even in the face of destiny. Our final lesson takes us to one of the most fascinating myths of all— Ragnarök , the Norse prophecy of the end of the world.
