MYP 2: Unit 3: Descriptive Writing Lesson 2

Sound Hunters: The Noises People Make

What can the sounds around us tell us about the world we live in?

In this fun, hands-on lesson, students become Sound Hunters, exploring the everyday noises we hear at home, on the streets, at school and across the city.

From the clatter of dishes and the hum of traffic to the buzz of conversations and the rattle of a passing vehicle, learners discover how precise vocabulary can bring ordinary sounds to life.

The lesson invites students to collect new sound words, build their own sound glossary, use each word in context and put their learning to the test through an engaging worksheet challenge.

By listening carefully and experimenting with language, students develop their vocabulary, strengthen sentence construction and discover the expressive power of onomatopoeia and descriptive writing.

The mission: Listen closely. Collect sounds. Choose powerful words. Make every sentence count!

Here's the link, students!

Happy learning
